Troop Meetings

Troop 160 meets weekly on Tuesday nights throughout the year. There are no meetings on the Tuesdays that fall during the weeks of Christmas and New Years.  Meeting time is 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

When inclement weather becomes a concern on a Tuesday and there is some question as to whether Scouts will meet that night:

  • If school was in session at the regular school dismissal time, there will be a Scout meeting that night.
  • If school was cancelled entirely for the day or dismissed early, there will not be a meeting that night.

Troop meetings are planned, organized, and lead by the scouts. The Senior Patrol Leader or the Assistant Senior Patrol Leader will coordinate the meeting. These scouts meet with the Patrol Leaders Council (PLC) on the second Sunday of the month to plan the next month’s meetings. The members of the PLC also meet thirty minutes before each meeting (6:30 p.m.) to review the plan for that night’s meeting.  A typical meeting includes:

  • Opening Formation and Ceremony – starts promptly at 7:00 p.m.
  • Patrol Meetings – plan patrol activities and work on advancement
  • Patrol Competition – game or other activity
  • Closing Formation – concludes promptly at 8:30 p.m.

Boards of Review are held the last Tuesday of each month.  The scout schedules these in advance with the scoutmaster.

The troop conducts three Courts of Honor throughout the year in January, May, and September.

The troop committee meets on the first Sunday of every month at 7:17 p.m. in the Scout Hut.

The Patrol Leaders Council and Adult Patrol Advisors meet on the second Sunday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Scout Hut.
