Conduct
Sometimes we take for granted certain rules and regulations. Troop 160 has a large number of active scouts who are good, solid young men. The troop intends to maintain the high standards that are ascribed to under the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Although the troop has very few problems and does not anticipate any, we feel that
certain rules and guidelines should be written and accepted by members of the troop and their families so as to avoid misunderstandings.
These rules apply when a scout is under our direction and responsibility. This includes the time he is with the troop at a weekly meeting or when we are on
any troop-related outing or activity, such as camping or day trips.
The following actions will not be tolerated:
1.
Possession or use of illegal
drugs
2.
Possession or use of firearms
3.
Possession or use of alcoholic
beverages
4.
Possession or use of tobacco
products
5.
Stealing
6.
Profanity
7.
Any form of harassment, hazing,
or malicious behavior directed toward another individual whether a Scout or adult
Participation in the above-prohibited activities may result in disciplinary
action that could include suspension or expulsion from the troop. The Scoutmaster
will determine such suspension or expulsion, as well as terms of reinstatement of a suspended scout, with the concurrence
of the Troop Committee.
A Scout is “Trustworthy” and we expect this first point of the Law and all others
to be taken seriously. A Scout will become a responsible young man and later
a responsible adult if he lives by the principles of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.
